Blog, Wiki and Online Discussion Board

Hi, all.


There are 3 common types of text-based e-learning tools, namely the blog, wiki and online discussion board.  Although they seem similar, they have different uses.Blogs are used mainly for personal reflection. Wiki is used mainly for collaboration and online discussion board is used mainly for exchange of ideas and view.

Hi.

Do visit the Edublog.org. You can set up the blog here and visit other teachers' blog for some ideas. Most of the teachers are using the edublog to supplement their teaching (at E learning Level 2).

Blogger Blogskins

Here are some of the places where you can download the blog skin. Some of the blogskin may come in zip format. All you need to is to locate the html or xml file and upload the required file.

How to Change Blogger Template

The XML will allow you to change the font size and colour. Just click on Fonts and colour as shown.

Please take note that if you blog skin is in HTML format and not XML format, you will need to click as "Revert to Classic Template" found at the bottom. In this case, you are only able to change the colour and font if you edit the html directly.

Web 2.0 Tools for Blog

Here are some of the popular Web 2.0 tools that you can use for your blog. We will suggest that you use the more popular Web 2.0 tools as they are less likely to "die out". The Web 2.0 tools will provide you with the "embedding codes" so that you can embed the relevant content in the blog.
